About the event

As you probably know there's new unsusual exhibition  in BoHouse - Taboo, which presents different approaches to the artistic depiction of the human body and different emotions. The unifying point for all works is that they cannot be shown in public space or social networks.

Continuing the topic of Taboo, we want to raise another taboo topic - the topic of Shibari. So, we invite you to an evening dedicated to shibari aesthetics, where you will decide for yourself whether it is art or just power games.

According to Wikipedia - shibari/kinbaku is Japanese art of limiting the mobility of the human body (bondage) using ropes, which is determined by technical and aesthetic principles. In addition to the technical aspect, shibari has sensual, aesthetic and erotic components.

The special guest of our evening will be well-known Israeli shibari-rigger Ded Mazai, who has been practicing and teaching shibari for the last 4 years in Israel and abroad.

This event is in Russian language.

Program

  • 19:30 - opening doors, getting to know each other, socializing, wine and light snacks, meeting with the owners and visiting the house
  • 20:15 - tour of the exhibition Taboo, as well as a meeting with photographers Evgeny Leib and Dina Bova.
  • 21:00 - Art of Shibari - theory and demonstration with rigger Ded Mazai
  • 23:00 - closing of the evening

At the meeting we will talk about the art of shibari. About why Ded Mazai performs under a pseudonym and where such a pseudonym came from in the context of shibari. We will try to figure out what goes on "behind the scenes" of a shibari session and what comes first in shibari - aesthetics or interaction.

Guided by the principle it is better to see once than hear a thousand times, at our evening there will be a live demonstration of the process - two shibari sessions with two different models. Two very different sessions as shibari sessions are never the same.

It's possible to see the work of Ded Mazai on Facebook or Instagram - @romknots,  @natnatashibari.

But it's still better to see everything live with your own eyes.

The participation fee  is 150 shekels per person.

Make a reservation by BIT at 052-5092193 with your name and the word "Shibari".

Hosts: Dina Bova and Gadi Boleslavsky

Location

Shaar Ephraim, Shenhav 153, but it's better to just write "BoHouse" in the Waze navigator to go straight to the gate
