What if paintings could produce sound? What if each brushstroke created a melody and every color evoked a tone?
At Mikhail Baranovsky’s solo exhibition "Pictures You Can Hear", you will witness how paintings find their voice. The artist invites viewers to immerse themselves in a unique fusion of art, where visual imagery and music intertwine, creating a multi-layered perception. Baranovsky’s paintings are accompanied by musical excerpts composed by the artist himself, enhancing the emotional impact and unveiling a new way of engaging with art.

Mikhail Baranovsky is a writer and artist whose work is multifaceted and paradoxical.
Born in Rostov-on-Don in 1963, he graduated from Rostov State University with a degree in journalism. He debuted as a writer in 2002 in Moscow, publishing numerous books and screenplays that gained popularity.
His artistic career began later in Israel, where he repatriated in 2014. Painting became his response to the challenges of a new life – his new form of self-expression. His works quickly resonated with audiences around the world.
Baranovsky believes that art should surprise and be thought provoking. His paintings do not aim to replicate reality, but rather to transform it. Imagination is at the heart of his creative process. He draws inspiration from the paintings of Rousseau, Chagall, Modigliani, Picasso, from the films of Woody Allen, from the books of Gabriel García Márquez, and from the music of Tom Waits.

Mikhail describes himself as a writer reborn as an artist. His paintings are vivid, polyphonic images created using an unusual technique where paint is applied with a roller, which adds textural depth and richness. The combination of visual art and musical accompaniment allows viewers to fell the artist’s vision more deeply, making the experience more immersive and multidimensional.
The exhibition "Pictures You Can Hear" offers viewers an unusual way to experience art.
Try to hear the sound of colors and allow yourself to see music through the eyes of the artist.
