"As Is" is a solo exhibition of Olga Yerushalmi - a well-known Israeli artist, a talented and groundbreaking painter. She explores her inner depth and reflects it through external observation, which creates intimate moments of connection with the viewer.

It's an exhibition of portraits - not representational, but very personal - as if a glimpse into someone's life through the keyhole.

This is a large exhibition of the artist, presenting 45 of her paintings.

The characters in her paintings are very natural and there is no sense of posing in them. There is a feeling that the artist documents life as it is, without embellishment - she sees flaws, but doesn't focus on them, doesn't mock them.

And she manages to naturally reflect a person and his space in all shades. There is a feeling of mutual trust, respect and interest between the model and the artist.

Yerushalmi uses different techniques and combines them on one surface. Wax, acrylic and pencil colors mix together and free her from the need to decide what to draw and how, allowing to concentrate and work.

Lately she's been intrigued by light. The way the light hits the object, the play of shadows and transparency in everyday objects. Diffused and soft light creates an atmosphere of quiet and intimate harmony. And the composition of the naked body as an abstract object, detached from time and place, allows experiencing the body as a natural object, the imperfection of which indicates its beauty. She likes to paint with free movements and thick brushes.

Olga's paintings are very atmospheric. The artist achieves this not only by the naturalness of the characters, but also by elaborating the details of the background, light, color and composition. She draws inspiration from the works of artists such as Lucian Freud, Lautrec, Schiele, Degas, Serov, Repin, Sorolla.

Her works are based on internal dialogue. Art allows her to explore her personality and emotions.

Olga Yerushalmi was born in St. Petersburg and lives in Israel since 1993. She graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem. She has participated in 6 solo and numerous group exhibitions in Israel and abroad. She also curates exhibitions in Israel. Her works are found are in private collections in Israel and around the world.
